Erin Osanna-Barba is a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has over 21 years’ experience in crisis intervention, interpersonal violence, trauma, grief, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has been certified in California as a Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor since 1996 and has worked as a Rape Counselor, Crime Victim’s Advocate within the criminal court system, and a Director of a sexual assault and violence prevention program on a college campus. Most recently, Erin has worked with clients suffering from various eating disorders in an outpatient treatment center.
Erin specializes in working with clients with anxiety, depression, and eating disorders as it relates to underlying trauma, unresolved grief, negative body image, low self-esteem issues, and relationship conflict. Erin has experience working with individuals and facilitating effective family and couples sessions.
She is passionate about helping clients in various stages of their lives on their path to wellness and happiness, and respects clients for entrusting her in the therapeutic process. You can expect a straight forward and interactive approach, she uses active and reflective listening without judgement to develop rapport. Erin brings compassion and empathy to challenge clients. Her therapeutic approach is strengths-based, meeting the client where he/she/they are, and is genuine with a great sense of humor to work with you to achieve your goals. Erin also implements a family systems and humanistic perspective to utilize various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.
