What does LCSW mean?
LCSW is the acronym for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. To receive this license, one must have a Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited university and have had 3,200 hours of training in a mental health facility, under the supervision of another licensed therapist. This person must also pass two licensing exams provided by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). This exam tests the person's knowledge about theories of human development, behavior and relationships; diagnosis of mental disorders and treatment interventions.
Do you work with adults and children?
Yes, I work with children, adults, families, couples and groups. I also provide supervision for LCSW and MFT interns pursuing their license.
If I have an emergency and need you immediately, what do I do?
If you have a life threatening emergency, or feel you will harm your self, please call 911. I do not provide emergency services. I do check my messages often, and will return your call/email within 24 hours.
